The clone wars were essentially the beginning of the end for the old republic and the creation of a new rule under Emperor Palpatine. It was probably the most significant event in the history of the Star Wars galaxy (that we know about anyway). The standard issue helmet is white with a dark visor. In terms of voice changing, it modulates the wearers voice to make it sound clone like, metallic or robotic with a bit of static before or after the voice (picture a clone speaking in the movies). There are also many standard phrases in authentic clone voices that can be emitted from the helmet by pushing a few buttons.
