Star Wars 3-dimensional Due In 2012
It was announced recently that the entire "Star Wars" catalog is being edited for a launch of "Star Wars" 3-d run. Each one of the films is getting the 3-d treatment. It will take awhile though. The very first isn't really due out until 2012. The films could be released in sequence according to the plot. The very first movie out is the very first within the story line, with the original trilogy being the last three films launched.
'Star Wars' 3-D finally feasible
Hollywood has exploded with three dimensional films, or rather giving the illusion of three dimensions. The biggest hits within the last few years are "Avatar" and "Clash of the Titans." These were both released in two dimensions and three dimensions. Now the technology is available, George Lucas and Industrial Light and Magic have decided to give "Star Wars" the 3-dimensional treatment. The job won't be rushed. The Telegraph reports Lucas film saying this. The series is iconic, and each and every achievable detail will be scrutinized so the newest three dimensional presentations will only improve upon the series.
2012 could be the very first one
The first "Star Wars 3-D" movie will be launched as "Episode 1: The Phantom Menace." The series is going to be released in chronological order. That is new to some. The release date is not yet determined for sure. 2012 is the year the business is heading for. It is just a goal though. George Lucas isn't quite sure about all this 3-dimensional technology still. This is what The Hollywood Reporter says. After he saw "Avatar," he decided to make the change. Nobody knows the time length between releases yet.
Having theaters up to speed
Currently, not enough theaters have 3-D capabilities. Every year more and more movie theaters get 3-d functions. In fact, there are about 500 each and every year changing. This technology is blossoming into its adolescence as more films are released in 3-D. It isn't known whether "Indiana Jones" or the "Clone Wars" DVD series will get 3-dimensional updates for theatrical launch.
