Image Of Bavarian Motor Works Logo Shows Up In Head After Subliminal Ad
Viewers in a German film theater not too long ago saw the BMW logo appear in an unusual place. Viewers watching a BMW commercial had a Bavarian Motor Works emblem imprinted on their retinas with a flash they could see after shutting their eyes. Viewers members interviewed after the show were excited, however the stunt raises questions about whether the technique is safe, or even legal. Either way you know the business took out a huge pay day loan to have a thing like this completed.
Flash projection of BMW logo
No other logo has dated venture where the BMW logo went. Using a type of flash projection technology employed in digital cameras, advertising producers stamped an after-image of the BMW logo on the brains of unsuspecting viewers. The gimmick is located on how an image of the sun is imprinted on the retina after looking at it for an instant. For a brief moment seems like to be projected on the back of the eyelids after they're closed. At the German movie theater, a large studio flash unit called a Profoto Pro-7B was behind the screen. A stencil of the BMW logo was placed in front of the flash.
The BMW commercial
An ad for BMW motorcycles with the Superbike world champion Ruben Xaus in it was when the BMW logo was projected into people’s retinas. The afterimage of the BMW brand will “literally get inside people’s heads” as outlined by producers. It is called a “harmless photo flash” though. Xaus says to the audience, “I am living my dream. 'What dream?' you ask. Just close your eyes and look deep inside yourself. Possibly it's your dream too. It's in you." Then the BMW logo is projected. This is for the audience. The flash is all the audience notices. Then Xaus explains, "Close your eyes and you will see it."
Reaction to BMW logo flash
There were a lot of audience members very impressed with it. They didn’t care that they were being tested out. Others question the safety of having a BMW logo burned to the retinas at the movies. There is a ton of light coming out from the Profoto Pro-7B flash although it only lasts from 1/3,000 to 1/400 of a second. Everyone knows looking at the sun isn't a good idea and could be hazardous to the eyesight. Brief flashes of light that are bright enough are bad too. Epileptic seizures are caused by them.
